ATLANTA, Ga. - The Great South Athletic Conference has announced the women's basketball Player of the Week for games played January 13 - 19 and, following voting by the league's sports information directors, Olivia McNally of Maine-Presque Isle claimed the weekly award.

McNally (pictured at right) had a big week for Maine-Presque Isle including a career-high 31 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals to lead the Owls in a road victory over St. Joseph's of VT. The senior co-captain also twice tallied game-highs of 20 points in games against SUNY-Canton and GSAC foe Pine Manor, giving her 71 points in 3 games. Against SUNY-Canton, McNally was a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and at St. Joseph's, she was 5-for-8 from downtown. For the week, McNally was 26-of-43, including 10-for-17 from three point range. Far from just a scorer, the 5'4 guard also added 12 rebounds, 13 assists and led the Owls defensive efforts with 10 steals. McNally leads the 11-4 Owls in scoring at 15.6ppg (5th in GSAC) and is currently ranked #14 nationally in the NCAA in three point percentage. McNally leads the GSAC in assist turnover ratio (1.44), is second in both assists (3.8apg) and field goal percentage (44.7%) and 4th in the conference in steals (2.75spg). The senior guard also averages 5.1 rebounds per game for the Owls.
The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
